The Terracotta Warriors

The army protects Emperor Qin Shi Huandi's tomb (221BC).

It was discovered by farmers digging a well in 1974.

Eventually 8000 warriors were found.

The museum opened in 1979.

Each soldier has an unique face, average height of 1.8m high.

Qin's tomb is 2km from his army. It is said that his tombs are an underground palace whose entrance is 30km away in the mountains and include mercury lakes, rivers and waterfalls.
